Tutorials Configuring DNS Server Debian 6 Squeeze

Now I will menguploud selanjutnnya the debian tutorial, on the 3rd stage we are going to the configuration of the DNS Server.

What is a DNS Server?
The DNS Server of the Domain Name System function translates the TCP/IP into the Domain name, to make it easier for users to search for a computer name, strung together that uses TCP/IP.

Understanding DNS (Domain Name System) is a system that stores information about the hostname or domain name in the form of scattered data base (distributed database) in computer networks, for example: the Internet.

DNS provides the IP address for each host name and server log every transmission of mail (mail exchange server) that accepts electronic mail (email) for each domain.

Is DNS (Domain Name System) means to identify each computer as a point in a network that uses internet protocol system help your adress to translate from a domain name to IP and vice versa.

Domain Name System is a hierarchical naming system that is later distributed to a computer, service, or resource is connected to the Internet or a private network.
DNS is often used a Domain Name Service to resolve the request for the names of websites into IP addresses for the purposes of finding computer services and devices worldwide.

DNS client – server relationship uses for name resolution. At the time the client is looking for a host, then it sends the query to the DNS server. A query is a request for name resolution that is sent to the DNS server.
  1. On a Client computer, an application program such as http, asking for the IP Address mapping (forward lookup query). An application program on the host which accesses the domain system is referred to as a resolver, a resolver to contact DNS server, commonly called a name server.
  2. Updating name server checks to the local database, if it is found, the name server returns the IP Address to the resolver if not found will forward the query to the name server a root server.
  3. It wasn't until the last client can directly contact a website/server is requested by using the IP Address provided by the DNS server.
